Tara and Drina Rafting
Contemporary rafting and white water rafting are recreational outdoor activities, also sport, which use an inflatable raft to navigate a river. Rafting has more than 100 years old tradition in our region. Mountain rivers were used for timber transport from remote areas to the railways and than forward to Europe. The first rafts were made from timber (lumber) and workers used them to follow and control transportation of wood on the river. Touristic rafting starts in 60s, mostly on wooden rafts on Drina River. Today, on rivers Tara and Drina, we have recreational and sport rafting clubs with modern and professional teams and equipment, which providing the best white water rafting in Europe.
